Xitai Lake, also known as Xihu or Sand Lake, is the second largest lake in southern Jiangsu after Taihu Lake. It is located in Wujin District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, and is bordered by Yixing to the south, the Yangtze River to the north, Taihu Lake to the east, and Changdang Lake to the west. Resembling a jade, it quietly embeds itself in the vast land of southern Jiangsu. With 164 square kilometers of clear waters and 215 million cubic meters of lake water, it nurtures countless people from Changzhou and Wujin, and embodies the profound and distant history of the Wu and Yue cultures. The Moon Bay scenic area in the northern part of Xitai Lake has been a focal point of local residents since its construction due to the repeated submersion of its lower platforms by lake water. In 2013, Moon Bay invested 19.04 million yuan in artificial landscape renovation to improve the water-friendly platform. It is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
