Xixi Huancui is one of the historical ten scenes of Tiger Hill. It was originally the memorial hall of Mr. Lu Gui, a high-ranking official from the Tang Dynasty, also known as the Furi gentleman. In the 51st year of the Qianlong era (1787), the twenty-fourth descendant of Mr. Furi, Lu Zhaoyu, used the stone as the foundation and built the structure imitating the eight scenes of Furi villa, surrounded by the forest. The original site included the Huancui Pavilion, Qingfeng Pavilion, Gui Zi Hall, Duck Fighting Pond, Chrysanthemum Fields, and Bamboo Dike. Unfortunately, during the Xianfeng years of the Qing Dynasty (1862), the site suffered from war and was nearly reduced to ruins, later becoming a vegetable field for the farmers on the outskirts. It then became the flower house of the scenic area. In 2004, after a complete restoration, it was officially opened to the public. The Huancui Pavilion, Qingfeng Pavilion, Gui Zi Hall, and Duck Fighting Pond were rebuilt on the original site, and new attractions such as the Mirror Terrace and Yunmeng, the Secluded Bamboo Gate, the Listening Pavilion, the Hanging Flower Gate, the Wild Mountain Stone Scene, and the Circular Water Scene were added. According to the records of Tiger Hill Flower Market in ‘Hufu Zhi’ and ‘Tongqiao Yizhu Record’, an ancient stage ‘Mirror Terrace and Yunmeng’ was constructed to provide a suitable venue for future flower fairs and folk performances. A rockery group made of thousands of tons of wild mountain stones was built in front of the stage, which is in line with the Tiger Hill Mountain System, outlining a Flower God Square and interpreting a legend of the Tiger Hill Flower God. Taking advantage of the bamboo forest on the west side of the mountain, which blocks the sun and has a winding path, the ‘Small Bamboo Forest’ mentioned in ‘Wudu Fasheng’ was restored and improved. Several bamboo fences and thatched cottages were built in the gaps between the bamboos, and the ancient well ‘Lv Yu Spring’, which had been buried for many years, was excavated. The clear stream in the bamboo forest was led to the Huancui Pavilion, Duck Fighting Pond, and other attractions, echoing with the tea fragrance scenic area behind the mountain, recreating the historical scene of ‘The forest gives birth to all green, and the spring of Xixi is about to come. The wilderness is quiet with bird sounds, and the wind and flowers are urging.’ The opening hours are from 07:30 to 16:30 all year round, and the specific business status is subject to the opening situation of the day.
