The Xu Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Xiyin Village, Yicheng Town. It was first built in 1492, the fifth year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty. It is the family ancestral hall of Xu Pu, a native of the city, and is a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province. The original Xu Clan Ancestral Hall had four entrances, and now the second and third entrances remain. The second entrance has three bays in width and eight bays in depth. The third entrance is the main hall of the ancestral hall. It has a hip roof, three bays in width and eight bays in depth. The beams, rooms, rafters and gable walls are all painted with bright colors and are well preserved. This ancestral hall has always been the family temple of the Xu clan. After maintenance in 1991, it was used as the activity room for the elderly in Xiyin Village. Xu Pu (1425-1499), courtesy name Shiyong, sobriquet Qianzhai. He was a successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations in 1454, the fifth year of Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty. He successively served as the minister of the Ministry of Revenue and the Ministry of Personnel, Grand Secretary of Wenyuan Pavilion and Grand Secretary of Wuyingdian.
