Xuelangshan is adjacent to Suzhou in the east and close to Taihu Lake in the south. It is also known as Hengshan. It is named after the Xuelang Nunnery built in the Song Dynasty on the top of the mountain. The main peak has an altitude of 146 meters. A famous Taihu Lake researcher in Wuxi said that Xuelangshan is not among the 72 peaks of Taihu Lake. According to altitude, the real first peak of Taihu Lake is ‘Piaomiao Peak’ located in Xishan, Suzhou, with an altitude of 336.

According to people from Taihu Town, Xuelangshan is called ‘The First Peak of Taihu Lake’ because it has a long human history and rich ecological resources. Now Xuelangshan has been developed into Xuelangshan Ecological Park. Xuelangshan Ecological Park is also an ecological landscape park integrating ecological protection, agricultural production, sightseeing and leisure, vacation and fitness, and popular science education. The park is composed of two major parts: the agricultural ecological landscape area and the historical and cultural landscape area, with a total of ten scenic areas and dozens of scenic spots. The ten scenic areas include Hengshan Temple scenic area, Immortal Cave scenic area, Number One Scholar Road scenic area, Tribute Tea scenic area, Xuelang Maple Viewing scenic area, modern agricultural demonstration scenic area, Xiangyang Tea and Fruit scenic area, etc.Opening hours: Open all year round from 07:30 to 19:00.

Children: Children with a height of 1.1m (inclusive) to 1.3m (exclusive) can purchase children’s rafting tickets at the scenic spot. Children’s tickets; children under 1.4 meters (inclusive) and under 6 years old (inclusive) are free.
The elderly: Those over 70 years old (inclusive) are free with an elderly card; those aged 60 (inclusive) to 69 (inclusive) are half price with an elderly card or ID card.
