Xuzhou Botanical Garden is located on the north side of the Second Ring North Road, south of Jiuli Mountain, and east of Pingshan Road. This renovation includes the transformation of the original nursery’s roads and greenery, as well as the construction of a Flower Trading Center, Service Center, and Greenhouse Natural Ecological Pavilion.
The botanic garden is divided into five major functional areas: Special Plant Area, Arboretum Area, Bonsai Area, Ornamental Greenhouse Science Education Area, and Flower Trading and Display Area. Among them, the Special Plant Area mainly features roses characteristic of the northern region, along with several smaller gardens such as the Osmanthus Garden, Gramineous Garden, Cypress Garden, Colorful Leaf Garden, Aquatic Botanical Garden, and Medicinal Botanical Garden. Upon entering the Greenhouse Ecological Pavilion, one can see many tall tropical and subtropical plants in the east area, including Banyan trees, Rubber Figs, Pot Rack Trees, Queen Palms, Nanyang Ying, Longevity Fruits, Plumeria, Banyan Willows, and Carambola… Not only are many tree species rarely seen locally, but even their names are unfamiliar to many for the first time. On the northwest side of the Greenhouse Natural Ecological Pavilion is the sand plant area, featuring tall plants such as Buddha’s Belly Trees, African King Trees, and Wulun Column Wolf’s Teeth, as well as shorter plants like Golden Stars, Great Phoenix Dragons, South American Uncles, and Desert Roses. There are also peculiarly shaped plants like the Belief Kirin, Copper Green Kirin, Ginseng Dandelion, and Puffed Coral. The garden is open all year round, with full-day access, and the greenhouse is open from 9:00 to 16:30.Xuzhou Botanical Garden
