Yancheng, nestled along the Huai River and by the sea, was established and prospered due to salt. Established in 1961, the Yancheng Museum is a comprehensive museum dedicated to studying and reflecting the local history and urban development of Yancheng. It carries the historical and cultural memory of Yancheng, narrating the stories of its millennial splendor.

The new museum, with a total construction area of 30,700 square meters, integrates collection, exhibition, research, education, service, and exchange. Its overall architectural style is classical and elegant, featuring one basic exhibition hall, three thematic exhibition halls, and two temporary exhibition halls, displaying over 2,000 cultural relics and exhibits.
