The Yangzhou Jiangdu Irrigation and Hydropower Project is located in the southern suburbs of Jiangdu Town, 14 kilometers east of Yangzhou, at the confluence of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, the Xin Tong Yang Canal, and the Huai River’s tail end, the Mangdao River. This is the starting point of the eastern route of China’s South-to-North Water Diversion Project.

The Jiangdu Irrigation and Hydropower Project began construction in 1961. The entire project consists of four large electric pumping stations, five large water gates, two medium-sized water gates, two underground culverts, two fish passages, and power transmission projects, as well as water diversion and drainage channels. It is a large-scale water conservancy project that implements inter-basin water transfer, long-distance water conveyance, and has comprehensive functions such as irrigation, drainage, water allocation, power generation, navigation, and providing water for urban and rural industries, domestic use, and coastal reclamation areas for washing alkali and dredging.

The opening hours are all year round from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 17:30 to 20:00.
