Yanfu Temple is located in Fupingshan, Taoxi Town, Wuyi County, Zhejiang Province, and is a renowned Yuan Dynasty wooden structure in the Jiangnan region. The temple was originally built in the second year of Tianfu during the Later Jin Dynasty (937 AD), and the main hall was reconstructed in the fourth year of Yanyou during the Yuan Dynasty (1317 AD). Originally named Futian Temple, it was bestowed the name Yanfu Temple during the Shaoxing years of the Song Dynasty. The existing structures are arranged along the central axis, including the mountain gate, the main hall, the rear hall, and the side rooms on both sides. There is a Changsheng Pond between the halls, and a stone well behind the hall. The mountain gate and the Guanyin Hall of Yanfu Temple are from the Qing Dynasty, with magnificent decorations. The eastern side room is a Ming Dynasty building. Inside the hall, there is a large iron bell cast in the second year of Baoyou during the Song Dynasty (1254 AD); in front of the rear hall, there is a pair of stone lions from the Yuan Dynasty, and inside the hall, there are stone steles written by Liu Yan in the first year of Taiding during the Yuan Dynasty (1324 AD) and by Tao Mengduan in the seventh year of Tianshun during the Ming Dynasty (1463 AD), both recording the temple’s reconstruction. The temple is open from January 1st to December 31st, from 08:00 to 18:00.
