Yangqiao Ancient Town is situated within the territory of Qianhuang Town in Wujin District, Changzhou City, at the heart of Taihu Lake, West Taihu Lake, Wujin, and Yixing. It is a crucial passage for traveling north to Changzhou Prefecture and south to Yixing County and Huzhou Prefecture in Zhejiang. The town is named after the single-arch stone bridge ‘Nan Yangqiao’ located to the south of Yangqiao Street, and it exemplifies a typical Jiangnan water town. As a millennium-old town in the Jiangnan region that has not been fully commercialized, Yangqiao Ancient Town has preserved its original ecology exceptionally well.
