Yangwan Village

Yangwan Ancient Village is located in the southwestern part of Dongshan. It starts from Yangwanbangchang in the east and ends at Xuanyuan Palace in the west. It is more than 500 meters in length. The scenic area covers an area of 36.4 hectares and includes cultural landscapes such as a street from the Ming Dynasty, an ancient imperial road, and the Yanwudun site of the ancient State of Wu. Entering Yangwan Ancient Village is an ancient street with patterns of ‘ten thousand people’ and water waves made of fine blue bricks. On both sides of the street are more than 20 ancient buildings from the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Especially, there are the most buildings from the Ming Dynasty, a total of 19, including official residences, well-off families’ houses, common people’s residences, teahouses, small shops and stalls. The simple and unadorned wall gates, smooth bluestone steps, mottled windows and moss-covered eaves are full of ancient charm. In Yangwan Ancient Village, the famous ancient houses from the Ming and Qing dynasties are: Xiqingtang (an ancient residential building in the Ming Dynasty. Existing buildings include the front building, brick-carved gate tower and back building. The back building has relatively high cultural relic value), Huaiyintang (a residential building from the middle period of the Ming Dynasty. Now only one entrance remains, including the gate tower, main building and wing rooms.), Zude Hall, Huihe Hall, Jiudatang Hall, etc. Opening hours: open all day throughout the year. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
