Located at No. 248 Guangling Road, the Yangzhou Academy Museum is built on the former site of the Meihua Academy. The museum is divided into six sections, including the Academy Stele Corridor, Historical Materials Exhibition Hall, and Academy Lecture Hall, which showcase the history of Yangzhou’s academies through physical objects and images.
Yangzhou’s academies originated in the Song Dynasty, managed by the salt administration and funded by salt merchants, becoming a hub for attracting and cultivating talents, with many becoming the backbone of the Yangzhou School. Today, Meihua Academy is the only remaining relic of the academies in Yangzhou. Renowned Tongcheng School literary figure Yao Nai and famous scholar Hong Tong from the Wan School once served as the head of the academy. The museum is open all year round from 09:00 to 20:30.Yangzhou Academy Museum in China
