Guanyin Mountain is located to the north of Slender West Lake. Compared with Daming Temple not far to the west, there are many fewer tourists. At first, there was Emperor Yang of Sui’s Lost Tower on Guanyin Mountain. Temples were built after the Song Dynasty. The uphill road leading to the temple is winding. There are yellow low walls on both sides. The buildings in the temple are crisscrossed and not arranged along the central axis, just like a maze. The Buddha statues on Guanyin Mountain are very distinctive. Different from ordinary temples where ‘Sakyamuni’ is the main statue and other Buddha statues are like stars surrounding the moon, here ‘bodhisattvas’ are the main body, and bodhisattvas from the four famous Buddhist mountains are enshrined at the same time. People who come to worship Buddha at Guanyin Mountain are mainly locals. On June 19th of the lunar calendar, the scene of few tourists will change. Many devout men and women will come to offer incense to Guanyin Bodhisattva. Although Guanyin Mountain is one of the highest points in Yangzhou, due to the obstruction of sight by many vegetation, the view of Slender West Lake is not very good, not as good as Qiling Pagoda of Daming Temple. Walking out of the mountain gate of Guanyin Mountain and going around to the back from the east side is the ruins of the Tang City. What greets the eye is lush vegetation. The prosperous scene of the Tang Dynasty can no longer be seen.
