The Zhenjian Library broke ground in June 2005. After two and a half years, it was completed and opened on New Year’s Day in 2008. The Zhenjian Library covers an area of 100 mu and has a construction area of more than 16,000 square meters. It is a Tang-style quadrangle building. The main body is the majestic main hall with four-sloping roofs and relaxed eaves corners, with three floors in total. It mainly consists of book and periodical reading rooms, book depositories, and lecture halls of Yangzhou Forum, fully equipped with air conditioning, sound and light equipment. The wing rooms are arranged around the main hall. In turn, there are places such as art galleries, Dishuifang, sutra copying halls, and teaching rooms. As one of the larger Buddhist libraries in China at present, the Zhenjian Library attaches equal importance to paper collections and digital collections. It mainly contains Buddhist books. Among them, there are more than 20 kinds of various versions of Tripitaka, involving nearly ten languages such as English, Japanese, and Pali. At the same time, the library also provides readers with works in literature, history, philosophy and other aspects, including precious large-scale classics such as Complete Library in the Four Branches of Literature, Yongle Encyclopedia, and Dunhuang Manuscripts. Opening hours: Open from 10:00 to 16:00 from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year.
