Pingshan Hall is located in Daming Temple on the central peak of Shugang in the northwestern suburbs of Yangzhou City. It was built in the eighth year of Qingli (1048). Ouyang Xiu, who was the magistrate of Yangzhou at that time, highly appreciated the secluded and simple atmosphere here and built a hall here. Sitting in this hall, one can see all the mountains in the south of the Yangtze River clearly, as if they are on the same level as the hall. Hence, it is named Pingshan Hall. Pingshan Hall is a place for scholars and literati to compose poems and odes.
In March 2017, the Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee, the municipal government, the municipal discipline inspection commission, and the Party Working Committee of Shugang-Slender West Lake Scenic Area decided to build the ‘Pingshan Hall Incorruptible Government Education Base’ here.
In November 2017, Pingshan Hall was awarded the ‘Jiangsu Incorruptible Government Education Base’ by the Jiangsu Provincial Discipline Inspection Commission.
It was completed and opened to the public on December 9, 2017. The opening hours are from 7:30 to 17:15 all year round.
