Yanzitang Academy was originally Yanzici, also known as Yanzimiao. It is a dedicated building for sacrificing Yanzu. It was built in 1584 (the twelfth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty) and rebuilt in 1875 (the third year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty). Since the end of the Qing Dynasty, primary schools have been changed. After 1949, it was once the first courtyard of Suzhou Ganjian Central Primary School. Until 1992, when Ganjian Road was expanded and closed down, the temple gate and screen wall were demolished. In 1983, Yanzici was listed as a protected building in Suzhou. Opening hours: Open from Monday to Friday all year round, 10:00-17:00.
