On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, the ‘Years in France – Wu Zuoren and Works and Documents Exhibition of Artists Studying in France’ is held to systematically sort out Mr. Wu Zuoren’s study, life, and social interactions in France. The exhibition mainly showcases more than 30 works by Mr. Wu Zuoren, as well as works and documentary materials of art predecessors such as Xu Beihong, Yan Wenliang, Chang Shuhong, Qin Xuanfu, Lü Sibai, Wang Linyi, Lü Xiaguang, Zhang Zongyu, Li Youxing, Tang Yihe, Hua Tianyou, Zhou Fangbai, and Pan Yuliang who studied in France in the first half of the 20th century. The exhibition is divided into three chapters: ‘Mostly letters from old friends before departure’, ‘You bring a vigorous pen from overseas’, and ‘A new journey is rarely better than an old one’. It is an exhibition that centers on personal phased experiences to study and present the overall history of studying in France.
