Yi Feng Gate is one of the thirteen inner city gates of the Ming Dynasty city wall in Nanjing, featuring a single-arch triple-door structure. It was constructed in the early years of the Hongwu period, situated between the southern foot of Lion Hill and Embroidered Ball Hill in the Gulou District of Nanjing City. It is said that the foot of Lion Hill has a geomancy of auspicious dragon and phoenix, hence the construction of two city gates, Zhongfu (facing east) and Yi Feng (facing west), with Yi Feng symbolizing the arrival of the phoenix. Nearby attractions include the Yujiang Tower, Yi Jiang Gate, Tianfei Palace, and Jinghai Temple. The gate is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
