Yifei’s House

Yifei’s House was originally a Ming Dynasty building. At first, it was Shen’s Charitable Elementary School. Later, a briquette factory was opened here. In 2005, to commemorate the painter Chen Yifei, it was renamed Yifei’s House. There are many old items related to Chen Yifei on display inside. The reason why Chen Yifei is so famous in Zhouzhuang is probably because of his painting ‘Memories of Hometown’, which depicts Shuangqiao. Shuangqiao is famous because of this painting, and Zhouzhuang is also famous at home and abroad because of it. Yifei’s House has a quiet small courtyard with a large area. There are begonias and osmanthus trees planted in the courtyard. Around the small courtyard are antique water town buildings. In the hall, lobby and on the second floor here, there are relevant exhibitions, including the utensils used by Chen Yifei during his lifetime, his publications, works, honorary certificates, photos, etc. There is a bronze statue of Chen Yifei standing in the middle of the lobby. The literary and artistic Zhouzhuang Sheng Huo is opened in Yifei’s House. Zhouzhuang Sheng Huo Jia is a coffee shop and also a landing live broadcast room of Himalaya, an online radio station. It tells moving stories that happen in Zhouzhuang and is worth a visit by tourists. Opening hours: Open from 08:00 to 16:30 all year round.
