Yinshan Street is a gastronomic avenue located within the Moganshan Scenic Area, situated at an elevation of approximately 600 meters. Spanning no more than 300 meters in length, the street is lined with shops, banks, post offices, restaurants, and markets, as well as cultural halls and churches, creating an impression of a small yet fully-equipped community.
Yinshan Street, likened to a century-old tree, has its branches in the form of mountain trails along both sides of the street. Ascending the stone steps, one can catch glimpses of the Catholic Church nestled in the greenery. The church is constructed from stacked stones, with colorful stained-glass windows adorning the walls. Locals gather here to pray and seek blessings every weekend. Among the buildings on this street, the post office stands out. It is reported that since the 24th year of the Guangxu Emperor (1898), Moganshan has been connected to Shanghai by mail. In 1951, a post and telecommunications office was established, adding services such as telecommunications, telephones, and newspaper distribution. At the end of Yinshan Street, there is a café opened by a British man named Mark. Visitors often take a break here, enjoying the view of the street and reading the guestbook filled with comments from tourists from various countries. Additionally, one can savor local specialties such as steamed soft-shelled turtle, orchid bamboo shoots, and braised pork in fermented bean curd sauce, all of which are delicious and worth trying.
