Yi Shang Hot Spring is located in Tangshan Town, Nanjing, known for its hot springs, and is one of the famous hot springs in the area. Tangshan has five springs, and Yi Shang Hot Spring possesses two of these spring resources, with water that does not require heating. Here, you can find both traditional Chinese-style hot springs made from Mai Dong, Chuan Xiong, He Shou Wu, and other herbal soups, as well as Western-style hot springs designed in Roman and Turkish styles.

Enjoy soaking in the hot springs while gazing at the starry sky; if it happens to snow in winter, the warmth of the hot spring against the cold snowflakes on your nose is a truly delightful experience. Before visiting Yi Shang Hot Spring, there are several things to prepare and be aware of: 1. Swimwear must be brought along, as it is available for purchase inside but at a higher price. Towels, bathing suits, slippers, and bathing products are not needed as Yi Shang provides them for free.

Lockers for visitors’ belongings are also complimentary.

2. There is no need to bring money inside, as all expenses are charged to a wristband, which is settled upon exit with payment.

3. Beverages are complimentary, and you can request a server to bring them to you while soaking. Snacks are available for purchase and are more abundant during the day, often selling out by evening. Soaking in the hot springs can be physically draining, leading to thirst and hunger; there is a buffet restaurant inside Yi Shang Hot Spring, but it is recommended to bring your own fruits for hydration and satiety. After exiting, you can dine at the local farmhouse restaurants outside for an affordable meal.

4. Each pool at Yi Shang Hot Spring has an electronic sign displaying the temperature. Elderly and children should not stay in high-temperature pools for too long to avoid chest tightness and dizziness. Upon entering Yi Shang Hot Spring, the entrance is divided into ‘Female Bath’ and ‘Male Bath’ for changing clothes and bathing. The structure of the Female Bath and Male Bath is similar, with the Female Bath serving as an example.

Upon entering, there is a dressing area with a mirrored dressing table on the left, equipped with hair dryers, moisturizers, and tissues, and a swimwear store on the right. Further inside is the changing area with rows of lockers. Turning left leads to the bathing area, and restrooms are available here as well. After changing, collect a towel from a server and exit through the Female Bath. The Male Bath exit is opposite the Female Bath, and you will see a group of men waiting for their female companions.

If a lady has a male companion, it is easy to meet at the exit. In winter, after exiting, it can be very cold, so first soak in the nearby Roman marble bath to warm up before choosing your preferred hot spring to avoid catching a cold. The Roman marble bath has a water temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, which is very mild, and is accompanied by a marble board bath. Lying on the heated marble slabs is very comfortable.

Next to the Roman marble bath is the hot spring area composed of Mai Dong, Chuan Xiong, He Shou Wu, and other herbal soups.

The waterfall pool next to it is also very distinctive. The hot waterfall more than ten meters high rushes on the body and has a relaxing effect. These hot springs mentioned above are all open-air. Walking further inside, passing through the middle rockery and green beverage bar, there is another circle of hot springs inside. More interesting ones are like the indoor flower love area. Different flowers and plants are placed in each pool, such as peony, rose, jasmine, lavender, etc.

Each pool is different. The open-air Turkish fish spa hot spring next to the flower love area is extremely popular. It is arranged in Islamic style. The small fish in the pool will come and nibble on the dead skin on your body. There is a very itchy feeling. You need to keep still. As soon as you move, the fish will be scared away. During holidays, there are so many people in the fish spa hot spring that you can only stand and there is no place for you to sit.

Yishang Hot Spring also has saunas, coffee pools, coconut milk pools, etc., and there are arrow signs indicating the direction inside. Some special hot springs such as Dead Sea black mud and Dead Sea floating bath require additional charges. There are also services such as relaxation and manicure that charge fees. On a sign at the entrance of Yishang Hot Spring, there is a detailed list of charged items.

Among the charged hot springs, the banana mineral sand bath is more popular. It costs 38 yuan for 30 minutes. Burying the whole person in the hot sand is very fun. To the south of Yishang Hot Spring is the affiliated hotel Yishang Hot Spring Resort. It is built according to high standards and has complete facilities. There is WIFI in every room. The advantage of staying in the affiliated hotel is that you can soak in the hot spring unlimited times during your stay.

The disadvantage is that the price is relatively expensive, at least 500-700 yuan per night. There are discounts online. It is recommended to compare prices on various websites before making a decision. If you don’t need to soak in the hot spring multiple times but still need to stay overnight, you can also choose to stay in other more economical hotels in Tangshan Town.
