Yishang Hot Spring

Yishang Hot Spring is located in Tangshan Town, Nanjing, which is famous for its hot springs. It is one of the well-known hot springs in this area. Tangshan has five spring sources, and Yishang Hot Spring has two spring sources. Its water does not need to be heated. Here, there are Chinese-style hot springs composed of spring soups such as ophiopogon japonicus, ligusticum chuanxiong, and fleece-flower root. There are also hot springs decorated in Roman and Turkish Western styles. While soaking in the hot spring and looking at the starry sky, if it snows in winter, people are soaked warmly. Snowflakes falling on the tip of the nose are no longer cold but only beautiful, which is indeed a great enjoyment.

Before soaking in Yishang Hot Spring, there are several things that need to be prepared and noted in advance: 1. Swimsuits and swimming trunks need to be brought by yourself. There are some for sale inside, but they are expensive. Towels, bath bubbles, slippers, and bathing supplies do not need to be brought. Yishang provides them for free. The lockers for tourists to put things in are also free. 2. Money does not need to be brought in. All consumption inside depends on swiping the hand tag. When you go out, settle the bill according to the hand tag and then you pay. 3. The drinks inside are free. When soaking in the hot spring, you can ask the waiter to bring you the drink. Snacks inside cost money. They are available during the day and are basically sold out at night. Soaking in hot springs consumes physical strength and is easy to get thirsty and hungry. There is also a cafeteria in Yishang Hot Spring. But it is recommended that you bring some fruits in by yourself, which can replenish water and fill your stomach. After coming out, you can go to the farmhouse restaurant outside to eat, which is affordable. 4. Each pool in Yishang Hot Spring has an electronic sign showing the temperature. The elderly and children should not soak in high-temperature pools for too long, as it is easy to feel chest tightness and dizziness.

After entering the gate of Yishang Hot Spring, there are two areas at the entrance, ‘Women’s Soup’ and ‘Men’s Soup’, which are places for men and women to change clothes and take a bath respectively. The structures of Women’s Soup and Men’s Soup are similar. Taking Women’s Soup as an example, after entering, there is a dressing area first. On the left is a dressing table with a mirror. There are hair dryers, body lotions, and tissues on it. On the right is the place where swimsuits are sold. Further inside is the changing area with rows of lockers. Then turn left, and it is the place for taking a bath. There is also a toilet here. After changing clothes and getting a towel from the waiter, you can go out through the exit of Women’s Soup. The exit of Men’s Soup is opposite Women’s Soup. As soon as you come out, you can see a group of men waiting for their female companions sitting at the entrance of Men’s Soup. If a lady has a male companion, it is good to meet at the exit.

If it is winter and it is very cold after coming out, first go to the Roman marble bath closer to the entrance to soak yourself warm, and then choose your favorite hot spring. Otherwise, you will catch a cold. The water temperature of the Roman marble bath is 40 degrees Celsius, which is very mild. It is equipped with a marble slab bath. Lying on the heating marble is very comfortable. Next to the Roman marble bath is the soup bath area composed of spring soups such as ophiopogon japonicus, ligusticum chuanxiong, and fleece-flower root.
Adjacent to the waterfall pool is also distinctive, with a thermal waterfall cascading down from a height of several meters, providing a relaxing effect. The aforementioned hot springs are all open-air. Further inside, past the central rockery and green beverage bar, there is another circle of hot springs. The indoor Flower Love Zone is particularly interesting, with each pool filled with different flowers and plants such as peonies, roses, jasmine, and lavender, making each pool unique. Next to the Flower Love Zone, the open-air Turkish fish therapy hot spring is extremely popular, decorated in Islamic style, where small fish in the pool will nibble on the dead skin of your body, causing a very ticklish sensation. You need to remain still; any movement will scare the fish away. During holidays, the fish therapy hot spring is so crowded that there is barely any space to sit. Other features of Yi Shang Hot Spring include sauna rooms, coffee pools, and coconut milk pools, all of which have directional arrows. Some special hot springs like the Dead Sea black mud and Dead Sea floating bath require additional charges, as well as relaxation and manicure services. A detailed list of chargeable items is displayed on a board after entering the main gate of Yi Shang Hot Spring. Among the charged hot springs, the Banana Mineral Sand Bath is quite popular, costing 38 yuan for 30 minutes, where you can bury yourself in hot sand, which is quite fun. To the south of Yi Shang Hot Spring, there is the affiliated hotel, Yi Shang Hot Spring Resort, built to high standards with comprehensive facilities, and all rooms are equipped with WIFI. The advantage of staying in the affiliated hotel is the unlimited number of times you can soak in the hot spring during your stay, but the downside is the higher price, at least 500-700 yuan per night. There are discounts available online, so it is recommended to compare prices on various websites before making a reservation. If you do not need to soak in the hot spring multiple times and need to stay overnight, you can choose other more economical hotels in Tangshan Town.
