Yiwu Museum, formerly known as the Public Education Museum established in 1972, is one of the earliest county-level museums established in China. The exhibition halls primarily feature displays of Yiwu’s historical traces and thematic exhibitions. Historical artifacts are displayed chronologically, showcasing cultural relics from the Neolithic Age to the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as the historical traces of major local historical figures.
The museum has a rich collection with a strong regional cultural atmosphere. The collection is categorized into stoneware, jade, ceramics, bronze, iron, gold and silver wares, and calligraphy and paintings, with particular emphasis on the original celadon of the Western Zhou Dynasty, the porcelain of the Wuzhou Kiln from the Six Dynasties, the gold and silver wares of the Song Dynasty, and the porcelain of the Longquan Kiln from the Yuan Dynasty.
