Located within the Yongquan Tourism Resort in Tongling, Yongquan Yijiangnan Twelve Scenery continues the style of Jiangnan gardens, featuring mountains, bamboo seas, streams, orchids, ancient bricks and tiles, and the wonders of the Quaternary Glacier, all beautifully presented, making it a paradise in Tongling. The scenic area includes Taoist attractions such as the Memorial Hall of Ye Zhenren, the Cave of Enlightenment, the Alchemy Spring, and the Cliff of Heavenly Books; and the Jings’ Study Hall, where the Northern Song Dynasty literary figure and political reformer Wang Anshi studied. The twelve major scenic spots, including Maple Forest Sunset, Sandalwood’s Embrace of Stone, Listening to Waves among Rocks, Seven Stars Wood Gathering, Glacial Wonders, Helpless Fortress, Carefree Bamboo Sea, Guanyin of Childbirth, and the River-Gazing Pavilion, are all breathtaking and awe-inspiring.
Within the valleys and crevices, there are over a hundred thousand wild orchids, as well as wild azaleas, peonies, Chinese herbaceous peonies, and other flowers scattered throughout. A mountain spring meanders through the valley, gurgling all year round, with fish swimming and frogs croaking. Stone paths, small bridges, pavilions, and towers are interspersed, creating an idyllic and heavenly scene.
