Yucheng Post Station has a long history. As early as in 223 BC during the 24th year of King Yingzheng of Qin, a high platform was built here and a postal kiosk was set up. This place was named Gaoyou. Among more than 2,000 counties and cities across the country, only Gaoyou connects its name with postal transmission. The existing Yucheng Post Station was first built in 1375, the eighth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty.
It is currently an ancient post station with a large scale and relatively well-preserved. Now it has been opened as a postal museum. Yucheng is another name for Gaoyou.
