The Yun Nantian Memorial Hall is surrounded by a platform that is over a meter wide. Under the southern eaves, wooden rafters are constructed in a style known as the ‘Fan Xuan’ along the corridor. On the east and west sides, elliptical moon gate openings are set in the eaves walls. The main hall of the memorial hall features wooden lattice glass floor-to-ceiling windows at the front, with half walls and half windows on both sides.
The memorial hall is enclosed on the east, south, and west by walls, creating a unique courtyard-style architectural layout, covering an area of over 1000 square meters. On the east side of the main courtyard, adjacent to the street, stands a water-polished brick-carved gateway. Behind the gateway’s main door is a multi-eaved pavilion with a pointed roof. Within the courtyard, there are flower beds planted with various ancient trees and famous flowers, creating a tranquil and elegant environment. Inside the pavilion hangs a plaque inscribed with ‘Yun Nantian Memorial Hall’, written by the local calligrapher and art connoisseur, Mr. Xie Zhiliu. Directly under the southern eaves of the main hall, there is another horizontal plaque with ‘Yun Nantian Memorial Hall’, inscribed by the local artist and master, Mr. Liu Haisu. The hall displays over 200 pieces of Yun Nantian’s works, including a bust statue, calligraphy, and rubbings, as well as works from over 200 renowned artists such as Liu Haisu, Huang Zhou, Chen Dayu, Wu Qingxia, Cheng Shifa, Zhu Qianzhan, and Xiao Xian. The memorial hall is open year-round from Tuesday to Saturday, 08:30-11:00 AM and 13:00-17:00 PM.Must Read
