Established in 1985, Yungu Cableway Company is currently a standing director unit of the China Cableway Association and one of the earlier passenger cableway enterprises in the country. The Yungu Cableway is a single-circuit detachable gondola cableway, akin to an airbus, starting from the north side of the Yungu Scenic Area and ending at the northeast side of Bai’e Ridge. The cableway spans approximately 2666 meters in length, with a height difference of over 770 meters, passing through 18 supports, operating at a speed of 6 meters per second, and each car can carry 8 passengers. Riding the Yungu Cableway, one can enjoy the scenery of Tiandu Peak, Lotus Peak, Buddha’s Palm Peak, Magpie Climbing on Plum, Immortal Turning Table, Gourd Stone, and Yangzi Crossing the River. Being in the cable car that pierces through clouds and fog feels like wandering in a fairyland, with exquisite scenery unfolding before your eyes. The operating hours are from December 1st to December 31st from 07:30 to 16:40, and from January 1st to March 1st from 08:00 to 16:40. During the ‘Spring Festival’ Golden Week and significant cultural tourism marketing events, the opening hours for the scenic area, transportation interchange, and cableway operation will be announced separately, based on the ticket reservation times on the official Huangshan tourism platform.
