Yunqi Bamboo Path is located at the southern foot of Wuyun Mountain in the southwest of the West Lake Scenic Area, a park nestled in a mountainous area, boasting a beautiful bamboo sea and serving as a serene retreat. It is said that in ancient times, colorful clouds gathered in the valley, hence the name. Known for its cool and tranquil environment, visiting during the height of summer allows one to fully experience its lush greenery, coolness, silence, and elegance. Upon entering the scenic area, a long, winding path stretches deep into the mountains, flanked by dense bamboo, with a clear stream flowing alongside. As you walk along the stone path shaded by emerald bamboo, sunlight filters through the leaves, casting golden speckles on the ground, accompanied by the occasional bird song, further highlighting the tranquility of the mountains.

Within the scenic area, there are not only the ancient Yunqi Temple but also scenic spots such as Huiyuan Peak, Baodou Ridge, and Biguan Peak, as well as a thousand-year-old maple tree that requires three people to embrace. It is also a filming location for the movie ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’. At the entrance of Yunqi Bamboo Path stands a pavilion with the inscription ‘Yunqi Bamboo Path’. The central bluestone slab of the path is separated from the pebbles on either side by black bricks, and it is said that Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty once visited Yunqi, using the central path as the imperial way for their travels.

Beside the path, there are pavilions such as Xixin, Sanju, Huilong, Yuexing, Huangzhu, and Yuyu. At the end of the bamboo path, there are rows of ancient trees, a pavilion for rest, and a teahouse for a leisurely cup of tea. Opening hours are from 07:00 to 17:00 all year round.
