Yuwang Palace

Yuwang Palace is located in the Jingtu Mountain Scenic Area. Also known as Yuwang Temple and Tusn Temple, it was originally established on the top of Tusn Mountain in 195 BC and has a history of over 2000 years. It is a place for worshiping the great Yu and his wife, Tusn.

Inside the palace, there are two thousand-year-old ginkgo trees, which are extremely rare due to their enormous size.

In the northwest corner, there is a watchtower. Ascending it allows one to take in the panoramic view of the lush peaks of Jingtu.

In the southwest, there is the Qi Mother Stone (also known as the Wife-Watching Stone), resembling a woman sitting upright and gazing into the distance, said to be the transformation of Yu’s wife, Tusn, as she waited for her husband.

Throughout the ages, many literati and notable officials such as Di Renjie, Liu Zongyuan, Wu Wenkui, Su Shi, Su Zhe, Song Lian, and Deng Shiru have visited this place, leaving behind a wealth of poetry and inscriptions.

Among the famous ones are Su Shi’s ‘Haozhou Qi Jue · Tusn’ poem inscribed on the temple wall, and Deng Shiru’s ‘Vast View of the Flat City’ rock inscription.

The palace is open year-round from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
