The Zhao Mengfu Art Museum is a regional characteristic traditional culture museum that integrates the life and calligraphy and painting works of the great artist Zhao Mengfu from the Yuan Dynasty. Located in the China Lake Brush Museum on Lianhuazhuang Road, Huzhou, it was established and opened in September 2001. The architectural appearance features a hip roof and upturned eaves, with pavilions, corridors, and buildings all constructed in an antique style.
The main sections include: the Zhao Mengfu Memorial Hall, which imitates the interior of the Songxue Studio, showcasing his life and artistic career; the Zhao Mengfu Ritual Hall, which houses 37 pieces of calligraphy and painting handed down through the ages by Zhao Mengfu and his artistic peers, as well as 38 stone carvings of calligraphy. Among them, Zhao Mengfu’s handwritten stone carvings of ‘Hu Jia Shi Ba Pai’, ‘Que Hua Qiu Se Tu’, ‘Ren Qi Tu’, and Wang Xizhi’s ‘Kuai Xue Shi Qing Tie’, Yan Zhenqing’s ‘Ji Zhi Wen Gao’, Su Shi’s ‘Huang Zhou Han Shi Shi’, and Huang Gongwang’s ‘Fu Chun Shan Ju Tu’ are all unparalleled cultural treasures of humanity. Zhao Mengfu, styled Zi’ang, and nicknamed Songxue Daoren, from Huzhou, is listed as one of the world’s cultural celebrities. On one of the nine planets in the solar system, Mercury, there is a crater named Zhao Mengfu Mountain, located at two longitudes 235 degrees – 225 degrees, with a diameter of 120 kilometers. The museum is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 08:00-16:00, and closed on Mondays. Preferential policies include: Children: Minors under 18 years old (excluding) can enter for free with an ID card; Elderly: Ages 60 (inclusive) to 69 (inclusive) can purchase preferential tickets; those aged 70 (inclusive) and above enter for free; Students: Full-time primary, middle, and high school students and college students with valid student IDs enter for free.
