Zheng’s Seventeen Mansions is located in Xiepu Town. It is a large-scale and well-preserved ancient building complex from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is the residence of Zheng, a local tycoon. Zheng Zunfa, the founder of Hero Ink Factory, is one of them. There are streets in the residence and markets in the streets. The horse-head walls are towering and very charming. The TV series ‘Zheng’s Seventeen Mansions’ was filmed here, so it is also somewhat famous. After being renovated into Kaiyuan Resort in 2013, the ticket price of Zheng’s Seventeen Mansions is only one-third of the original. However, because some old houses have been transformed into guest rooms of the resort, there are fewer landscapes to see. Nowadays, half of this place is a scenic area open to tourists, and half is an accommodation and catering area only open to guests. Guests can visit the scenic area for free with their certificates. The scenic area is divided into two areas by a waterway. If you don’t enter the rooms and just stroll on the street, you can finish seeing it quickly. The first place to visit when entering the scenic area is the Zheng Family Ancestral Hall. Walking a little further inside, you can see the kitchen of that year. In particular, the kitchen is deliberately not repaired. The stone piers, stoves and some ruins are exposed, and weeds grow on the walls, which instead gives a strong visual impact. After crossing the bridge is the Ming and Qing Street. As it is used as a filming base, many props used for filming at that time are still retained, and there are many creative tables and chairs. The streets and residences here have a strong charm of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is especially suitable for taking pictures on sunny days. Some residences have been transformed into restaurants and exhibition halls. Many famous residences can learn about their history through the signs on the walls. When you reach Yuanmaofang, the back is all the accommodation area. Cross the bridge and walk to the scenic area gate to end the tour. Opening hours: Open from 08:30 to 16:30 all year round.
