Zhenru Temple in Yangzhou, also known as Zhenwu Temple, is located in Xiaoji Town, Jiangdu City, and is a cultural relics protection unit in Jiangsu Province. Despite enduring hundreds of years of wind and rain, Zhenru Temple still maintains its elegant charm. Initially named Dizang An, it was originally a Taoist venue established during the Tang Dynasty and later fell into disrepair. It was rebuilt in the eighth year of the Hongzhi era of the Ming Dynasty, featuring a front hall, main hall, and a two-story scripture library, all adopting architectural styles from the Song Dynasty. After withstanding the ravages of time, only the main hall of Zhenru Temple remained by 1949. From the 1960s to the 1990s, cultural departments at the provincial and municipal levels of government carried out several renovations on Zhenru Temple. Entering the new century, Xiaoji Town invested more than four million yuan to construct a new scripture library and corridors around the main hall, and a Zhenru Square was also built to the east of the temple, revitalizing the ancient temple. The temple is open all year round, with full-day access. The specific opening hours are subject to the actual situation of the scenic area on the day.
