Zhonghua Filial Piety Garden faces Taihu Lake and is backed by Liaoma Mountain, integrating the culture of filial piety and Guanyin. Here, one can see both the Liaoma Zen Temple built to commemorate Wang Bao, one of the Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars, and the towering statue of Guanyin. The construction of the scenic area is modern, and the surrounding environment has a rural charm, but the location is remote, making it more suitable for self-driving tours.

The entrance of Zhonghua Filial Piety Garden is by Taihu Lake, with a layout similar to the Lingshan Scenic Area in Wuxi. Upon entering the gate, the first sight is the Gratitude Square, which is situated amidst a lake with a 12-meter-tall pure white vase in the center, featuring a timed fountain show. Then, at a fork in the road, turning right leads to the Ancestral Temple, while turning left on the Bodhi Avenue leads to the Guanyin Sanctuary. Inside the Ancestral Hall, deities such as Yan and Huang, Fuxi and Nüwa are enshrined, with the Eastern and Western halls serving as the Genealogy Culture Museum, and 105 rooms on both sides as the Hundred Family Surnames Ancestral Halls.

On the way to the Guanyin Sanctuary, another fork leads to Liaoma Zen Temple. Liaoma Zen Temple, originally built during the Eastern Jin Dynasty, has been destroyed and rebuilt through the ages, with remnants such as an ancient well and stone pillar carvings from the Ming Dynasty still existing. The temple’s yellow walls and black tiles are surrounded by lush greenery, creating a serene atmosphere. After visiting Liaoma Zen Temple, returning to the Bodhi Avenue and continuing forward leads to the Filial Piety Museum, and then into the Guanyin Sanctuary’s gate, where the subsequent areas are all related to Guanyin.

The Zhengfa Ming Hall enshrines Zhengfa Ming Tathagata (the previous life of Guanyin) and the Twelve Perfectly Enlightened Bodhisattvas. Climbing up the stepped path, one can reach the main attraction of the Guanyin Sanctuary, the Jiangnan Grottoes, where three artificially excavated grottoes each house a golden statue, with Guanyin Bodhisattva in the center, flanked by Sudhana and the Dragon Girl. After touring Zhonghua Filial Piety Garden, one can take a walk by Taihu Lake to enjoy the breeze and watch the sunset over Taihu. Additionally, there are dedicated bicycle lanes on both sides of the Huan Taihu Lake Road at the entrance, and self-driving tourists who bring bicycles can cycle a section, which is also enjoyable.
