Daxun Temple, originating from the Xia Dynasty, is one of the two major temples in Zhejiang province (the other being the Yu Temple in Shaoxing), with a history of 4,000 years. The temple occupies an area of five bays, approximately 23 meters wide and about 100 meters deep, divided into three sections: the first section is the Sacred Hall; the second is the Ancestral Hall; and the third is the Siyue Hall. Each section has its own stage, and within the temple gate, there is a lotus pond and a stone bridge. In front of the temple, there is the Shun River and Bai Guan Bridge. The temple contains numerous couplets and poetic inscriptions. The current government of Shangyu is fundraising for the reconstruction of Daxun Temple, with the reconstruction project having been inaugurated on December 30, 2007. The temple is open all year round from 8:00 to 16:30.
