Zhouqiao Old Street

The Zhouqiao Old Street in Jiading urban area has been preserved since the 10th year of Jiading in the Southern Song Dynasty (1218). Within a thousand steps, ancient pagodas, old temples, and famous gardens of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties are gathered, which is rare in China. It can be called the ‘root of Jiading’. This is also an old street area with very strong popularity. At the same time, the old street is also a tourist shopping passage connecting scenic spots and historical sites such as the Confucius Temple, Huilongtan, and Qiuxia Garden.

Zhouqiao, also known as Denglong Bridge. It was built in 1245. It is a single-arch stone arch bridge structure, running from north to south, spanning the Lianqi River. There are 13 steps on each side of the stone step bridge deck from north to south. The bridge was rebuilt in 1998 and is now a cultural relic protection unit in Jiading District. Open all year round and open all day.
