Enter through the alleyways beside the Dongjuanmen Historical District or next to the Wu Daotai Mansion, and you will arrive at the former residence. It might be hard to imagine that a generation of literati lived in such a secluded lane. This structure, which dates back to the Qing Dynasty, is a typical residential ‘Sanheyuan’ architecture in Yangzhou, exuding a strong scholarly atmosphere. This is the place where he lived for over a decade.

With few tourists and a modest size, it presents a different kind of elegance compared to the grand residences of high-ranking officials and wealthy merchants in Yangzhou. After restoration, the residence still preserves some of the daily furniture and stationery used by him. Behind the statue is a painting of ‘Moonlight over the Lotus Pond,’ with a plaque hanging above it. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00, and closed all day on Mondays.

Please note that the actual business status may vary depending on the day’s opening conditions.

Supplementary information on preferential policies: 1. [Free Admission] Visitors with valid identification can enjoy free admission during the opening hours of the scenic area.
