Zhuxi Ancient Town, also known as Wuyou Ancient Town, is located to the south of the city ring road in Yancheng, with the meandering Chuanchang River forming a unique peninsular characteristic. Despite the changes over a thousand years of history, the ancient town’s framework of ‘nine streets and eighteen alleys’ has remained unchanged. The alleys are distinct and well-preserved, with many ancient buildings still standing. More than 50 buildings with historical value have been officially announced.
