Zhu Xi Garden in Shanghai is located at the eastern end of Zhujiajiao Town, Qingpu District. It is adjacent to Huqingping Highway in the south, Shengde Plastic Factory in the north, and the factory便道 on the west. At the eastern end of Zhujiajiao Town in Qingpu, which enjoys the reputation of ‘Oriental Venice’, there is a garden named Zhu Xi Garden with unique classical art style. This garden covers an area of more than 50 mu, including the water surface area.
Inside the garden, there are shady trees, a quiet environment, clear lakes, and beautiful scenery. Scenic spots such as Jinshi Pavilion, Qinghua Stone Pavilion, stone arch bridge, stone revetment embankment, zigzag bridge, Nine Dragons fountain, rockery, and corridor are well-arranged and complement each other. In addition to the zigzag bridge, rockery, fountain and other scenic spots in Zhu Xi Garden, a unique Chinese zodiac garden is also created. There are 12 stone-carved Chinese zodiac statues in the garden. The shapes are quaint and funny, full of interest. Under each statue, there are descriptions of the personalities of people belonging to that zodiac sign. When tourists come here, they all look for their own signs and ‘take their seats according to the numbers’. After watching the descriptions of themselves with great interest, some nod in agreement, and some shake their heads in denial. From time to time, bursts of laughter are heard here and there.Opening hours: From November 1st to April 30th, it is open from 05:45 to 16:30; from May 1st to October 31st, it is open from 05:00 to 16:30.
