Zhuxi Park covers an area of more than 80 mu. It advocates ‘being secluded is superior’ and ‘scenery is arranged randomly’. Listen to springs in four seasons, enjoy lotus in summer months, appreciate osmanthus in mid-autumn, and look for plum blossoms after snow. Zhuxi Park has become a great scenic spot in Shifang. In addition to nature, couplets can also be appreciated. Although all the couplets are written by people today, they are neatly antithetical and elegant in interest, complementing the scenery in the park and able to attract people to stop. For example, the couplet for Tingquan Pavilion written by Zhao Dakui and drafted by Xu Shiwen: ‘A rainbow in mid-air spans the misty waters, and the sound of springs comes out of the wild pavilion all the way.’ The couplet for Qinxin Pavilion written by Ning Biweng and drafted by Wanshiyuan: ‘Tens of thousands of bamboos sway the shadow of the sky, and the nine twists of Panxi lead the clear breeze and moonlight.’ The couplet for Zuiyue Pavilion written and composed by Zheng Xutao: ‘The clear light enters the seat and the moon can make one drunk. The evening glow falls on the lake and the rosy clouds can be feasted on.’ Appreciating osmanthus in August and looking for plum blossoms in severe winter are another characteristics of Zhuxi. Going south along the bonsai garden, there are ‘Plum Garden’ and ‘Osmanthus Garden’. When osmanthus is in full bloom, the Osmanthus Fragrance Pavilion is set off. As soon as you enter the garden, you can smell it. The most beautiful thing is certainly looking for plum blossoms in the snow. Entering the garden through the Guilin can lead to the wall with pendant flower gates in the form of a garden cave. Only shadows can be seen. There are more than 20 varieties such as ice plum, swimming dragon plum, palace pink, bright red, cinnabar, cinnabar pavilion, and apricot plum. When winter snow falls, walking through the plum forest and enjoying plum blossoms is full of poetic charm. Amidst the faint fragrance, people no longer know where they came from and forget the way back.
