Zutang Mountain is located to the south of Niushou Mountain, north of Zutang Village in Dongshanqiao Township, with an elevation of approximately 255.9 meters, and is a branch of Niushou Mountain.
The Southern Tang Tombs are situated at the southwestern foot of Zutang Mountain in the southern suburbs of Nanjing City, and are the tombs of the founding emperor, Li Bian, and the second emperor, Li Jing, during the period of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms.
Zutang Mountain, historically known as Youqi Mountain, was named after the Youqi Temple built on the mountain. In the early years of the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty, Master Falong attained enlightenment here, and the mountain was subsequently renamed Zutang Mountain.
On the mountain, there are hills such as Furong Peak, Tianpan Ridge, Gongbei Peak, and Xifeng Ridge. The main peak, Furong Peak, has an elevation of about 256 meters, with layered greenery, towering into the clouds, and resembling a lotus flower.
The mountain is shrouded in clouds and mist, with deep valleys, pine waves, and bamboo seas, all of which are fascinating. There are also caves like Fohugong, Xiangbi Dong, and Shendong, as well as scenic spots like Xiquan, Changgeng Spring, Taibai Spring, Feilai Stone, and Baijing Tai.
