Introducing ‘Pilotism’, a neologism that encapsulates the bravery, fearlessness, and adventurous spirit of pilots. This term, defined by Daniel Roibal and Zach Zono, describes a new form of abstract language and contemporary existential state. Both artists share the fortunate coincidence of having fathers who are pilots, which serendipitously inspired the etymology of ‘Pilotism’—the title of their exhibition.
Growing up with a pilot father instilled in both artists a desire to travel and experience the world, as well as the means to do so. Constant international travel fostered an open, fluid, and chaotic state of mind—a unique phenomenological experience. For the duo, abstraction is an artistic language that encapsulates the attempt to find order amidst chaos, starting from the concrete and ultimately reaching the spiritual realm.
The exhibition, ‘Pilotism’, is open from September 28th to December 15th, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.
