In 1988, the play was translated into Chinese by Ying Ruocheng, and the Beijing People’s Art Theatre invited renowned American artist Charlton Heston to direct it. Through successful Sino-American cooperation, the play artistically presented the complete process of the court-martial trial. The 2006 revised edition was artistically directed by veteran artist Zhu Xu, who played Captain Queeg in the original production, and featured a host of outstanding actors including Feng Yuanzheng and Wu Gang.

The play’s subtle portrayal of human nature and dramatic depth rely entirely on language, showcasing the actors’ skills. There are no female roles in the entire play, only male characters, which highlights the masculinity of the military and offers a powerful stage presence. The performance is scheduled for October 20th to 22nd, with a total duration of approximately 159 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission, subject to actual on-site conditions.
