The Tushanwan Museum is located at the former site of the Tushanwan Orphanage. It was opened to the public during the World Expo in Shanghai, China on June 12, 2010. This is the only remaining north building of the original Tushanwan Orphanage. It is a brick-wood structure with three floors. It was built during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty. Because the orphanage focuses on arts and crafts training, it is also known as the Orphan Crafts Institute. The exhibition area of the whole museum is more than 900 square meters. It is divided into four major units: the Pailou Hall, Xujiahui Hall, Tushanwan Hall, and Inheritance and Influence Hall. Nearly 400 exhibits are on display, including more than 200 historical photos. The main exhibits are physical objects, photos, models and historical documents, supplemented by multimedia and other auxiliary means to restore the daily scenes of the Tushanwan Orphan Crafts Institute.
