Fangcao Sea, situated at an altitude of 2910 meters, is a marshy lake with a length of 540 meters, varying width from 4 to 20 meters, and depth ranging from 2 to 4 meters. It covers an area of 50,000 square meters and holds a water volume of 10,000 cubic meters. As its name implies, the lake is home to a variety of exotic flowers and plants, particularly Equisetum ramosissimum and Monochoria vaginalis. During the blooming season, the area comes alive with colorful flowers, rich in fragrance and grace.
The lush green grass in the water provides a serene backdrop for waterfowls that swim leisurely. As you breathe in the fresh air, you are greeted by the pleasant songs of birds echoing through the valley. The gurgling water at your feet and the dense forest beside you create a tranquil atmosphere. Walking along the wooden plank road, one feels an overwhelming sense of comfort.
On the water’s surface, water plants thrive, and occasionally, waterfowls can be seen playing in the distance. Among the over one hundred seas in Jiuzhaigou, Fangcao Sea stands out with its diverse plant life that changes with the seasons. It is renowned for its colorful grasses and flowers that gather to form a unique, lush grassland scenery.
The mountains and valleys of Jiuzhaigou’s Fangcao Sea are characterized by their high and deep terrain, which, coupled with the late morning sun, adds an air of mystery to the area. In the summer and autumn months, the grass resembles brocade, with various marshy water plants dotting the landscape and swaying gracefully, creating unexpected visual effects.
