The former residence of Zhao Shiyan is located in Longtan Town, Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, Chongqing City. It is a classic scenic spot showing red revolutionary culture and ancient architectural art. The former residence of Zhao Shiyan is composed of six major parts: the former residence of Comrade Zhao Shiyan, the exhibition hall of martyr Zhao Shiyan, the mourning square for martyr Zhao Shiyan, ecological parking lot and green belt. It covers an area of 11,800 square meters and has a construction area of 2,670 square meters. The former residence of Comrade Zhao Shiyan, formerly known as Zhao’s family house, was built in 1902, the 28th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. It is a quadrangle courtyard with wooden structure, covering a total area of 1,605 square meters, of which the quadrangle courtyard covers an area of 712 square meters. There are 32 tile-roofed houses. Entering the door is the Chaomen facing fate. The left and right door walls are engraved with the characters ‘Fortune’ and ‘Longevity’, which are vigorous and powerful. A plaque of ‘Family of Qin and Crane’ is hung on the eaves of the door. On the surrounding wall of the main entrance’s screen wall is a mural of pine cranes. Opening hours: From January 1st to December 31st, Monday to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, open from 09:00 to 17:00; From January 1st to December 31st, Friday, closed all day.
