Hong Kong, known as the ‘Capital of Asian Events,’ is positioned as the hub for cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world. Leveraging the unique advantages of ‘one country, two systems, connected to the world,’ it has been enhancing connections among people from various regions. Through large-scale cultural events, it allows visitors and local residents to experience the vibrant and diverse cultural atmosphere together. Last year’s inaugural ‘Arts Without Borders’ Art Festival featured artists from 23 countries, involved in 29 performances and activities, attracting over 62,000 participants. In October last year, at the third ‘Belt and Road’ International Cooperation Forum chaired by President Xi Jinping, the ‘Arts Without Borders’ Art Festival was listed as one of the outcomes in the ‘People’s Livelihood and Heart-to-Heart Communication’ category of the practical cooperation project list. This year, we are striving to hold the second ‘Arts Without Borders’ Art Festival, with outstanding artists from nearly 30 Asian, ‘Belt and Road’ region, and Middle Eastern countries coming to Hong Kong to perform. The number of performances and activities will exceed 100, significantly increasing compared to 2023. We sincerely thank the support from various consulates and cultural institutions in Hong Kong. This year’s program is rich and diverse, featuring dynamic multimedia dance performances, internationally renowned piano masters and singers’ concerts, as well as participatory performances and environmental multimedia music shows that stimulate imagination. A new ‘Middle East Series’ has been added this year, presenting numerous performances that blend Middle Eastern and Western styles, along with various themed exhibitions, outdoor carnivals, and film screenings. Visitors to Hong Kong can experience the city’s multiculturalism and vitality, bringing new experiences to the audience. ‘Arts Without Borders’ aims to promote mutual learning among civilizations, cultural integration, and heart-to-heart communication among countries and regions, creating a brand for cultural performance exchange projects and providing a regular exchange platform for more countries and regions. Enjoy the exciting programs, feel the charm of different ethnicities and cultures, and experience the cultural allure of Hong Kong. The festival is open from 9/27 to 11/30, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status.
