Han Hou Temple is located about 200 meters east of Zhenhuai Tower in Chuzhou District, facing south with a width of approximately 23 meters and a length of about 130 meters. Inside the temple, there is an altar with curtains and a niche where a seated statue of Han Xin, a prominent military strategist during the late Qin and early Han dynasties, is placed. The statue portrays Han Xin with a chest out and head held high, exuding a strong and heroic aura. Han Xin, who assisted Liu Bang in defeating the Qin and the Chu, won the world and established the Han Dynasty. He was successively ennobled as the King of Qi and the King of Chu, and is known as one of the ‘Three Heroes of the Han Dynasty’ along with Xiao He and Zhang Liang. He was later killed by Empress Lü. Han Xin was born in ‘Han Wang Village,’ eight miles west of the ancient Huaiyang County. In his youth, he lived in the official alley of the old Huaiyang city, which is now the site of the People’s Hospital in Matou Town, Huaiyin County. It is said that there was once a brick gate tower in the official alley with the inscription ‘Han Hou’s Hometown’ on the lintel. To the west of the alley, there are steps leading directly to Zhang Fu River, and to the east, there is a stone archway inscribed with ‘Ancient Chu Huaiyang.’ The stone tablet inscribed with ‘Ancient Chu Huaiyang,’ which once stood in the town, was later moved to Huai’an Prefecture. The existing Han Xin Fishing Platform in Han Xin’s Hometown is where Han Xin fished as a teenager, and the historical fact of ‘the floating mother feeding Xin’ took place here. On the site of the fishing platform, there stands a stone tablet inscribed with ‘Ancient Han Xin Fishing Platform,’ centuries-old slabs, and an octagonal stone drum, among other cultural relics for visitors to admire.
