Baojia Mountain, located to the southeast of the reservoir, is shrouded in legend. It is said that in ancient times, Emperor Tang was besieged here and was fortunate to be rescued by his ministers in time, thus escaping calamity. Consequently, the mountain was bestowed with the name ‘Baojia’. The mountain is adorned with peculiar rocks, small yet full of charm and interest. The ascent begins at a place called ‘A Thread of Sky’, a path that seems to have been cleaved out of thin air. From the twisted stone patterns along the path, one can discern how the mountain rocks were manipulated by nature as if they were dough during the creation of the world. Up close, the ‘A Thread of Sky’ reveals a solitary peak standing tall on the left, resembling a naturally formed wonder; from a distance, Baojia Mountain, set against the backdrop of the reservoir, appears like an exquisite water and stone bonsai, clear and elegant. At the summit of Baojia Mountain stands the ‘Siwangling Pavilion’, from which one can gaze upon the panoramic views of Sucheng. The area is open from January 1st to December 31st, from 08:30 to 17:30.
