The Yingge Ceramics Museum in New Taipei City has been organizing the ‘Taiwan International Ceramic Biennale’ since 2004. The first and second sessions (in 2004 and 2008) adopted the ‘works competition’ model, open to global ceramic creators to register and participate. Award-winning and selected works can be exhibited in the Ceramics Museum. Since 2010, the Ceramics Museum has added ‘thematic curation’. Through the method of soliciting exhibition plans, international curators are selected to cooperate with the museum in curating exhibitions. Since then, the Ceramics Museum has been held in a two-year rotation system of ‘works competition’ and ‘thematic curation’. The ‘2024 Taiwan International Ceramic Biennale’ is the year of ‘works competition’ and also the tenth biennale. It has set the highest number of competition entries in history, with a total of 1,216 works from 66 countries registered for participation. The jury of this competition is composed of seven internationally renowned experts and scholars in the field of ceramic art. After two stages of professional selection, a total of 20 award-winning works were selected, including 1 work for the grand prize, 1 gold medal work, 1 silver medal work, 1 bronze medal work, 9 excellent works, 7 jury recommendation awards, and 54 selected works. Opening hours: from October 4th to April 6th. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
