Four Seasons Rhapsody presents a focused showcase of Hiroshi Saeki’s latest 19 pieces. One of the exhibition’s highlights includes his ‘Seasonal Rhapsody’ series, which reinterprets the 16th-century Italian painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo’s four seasons paintings, breathing new life into these classic natural themes. Additionally, Saeki has created new works inspired by the ‘Four Seasons Flower and Bird Paintings’ by Japanese painter Kagetaka Ima, skillfully merging Japanese traditional art with modern painting styles, demonstrating his profound understanding of Eastern and Western art. The exhibition transcends the interpretation of traditional masterpieces, also showcasing a re-envisioning of Western modern art. Several works in the exhibition are created in the styles of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, two artists renowned for their pop art. Saeki, through the integration of an Eastern perspective and techniques, retains the original style while adding modern elements of anime culture. This dialogue between Eastern and Western art becomes a significant feature of the exhibition, highlighting Saeki’s diverse integration in artistic creation. Hiroshi Saeki is highly praised for his delicate brushwork and unique artistic vision. His works, whether paying homage to classic art or utilizing manga and anime culture, display his deep understanding and innovative ability in contemporary art. Each piece in the exhibition is filled with stories and emotions, inheriting the spirit of traditional art while conversing with the audience in modern language and techniques. The exhibition is open from October 16th to November 24th, with specific business hours subject to the daily opening status.
