Tonglingshan Forest Park is located in Wencheng County. It is about a two-hour drive from Wencheng county seat, and most of the roads are winding mountain roads that are relatively difficult to travel. Due to inconvenient transportation, there are not many tourists in Tonglingshan. Tonglingshan gives people a feeling of primitiveness and cleanliness. The pools here are clear and greenish. You can see the fish in the water even on the shore. If you are looking for a quiet place with green mountains and clear waters, then this is a good choice. The forest park has a large area and is a very beautiful broad-leaved forest farm inside. Tonglingshan Gorge Scenic Area is the core area of the park. The canyon is 3 kilometers long and more than 100 meters wide, showing an S-shaped trend. Hidden in the canyon are twelve circular deep pools of different sizes. The local people call these green pools with small mouths and large bellies and similar to wine jars as ‘twelve jars’. These ‘kettle-hole wonders’ formed by the swirling of torrents for tens of millions of years are relatively famous. Tour along the stone path in the mountains, with dense bamboo forests on both sides. The observation deck at the end of the stone path can offer a more spectacular view of Tonglingshan Gorge. Go down to the bottom of the valley, take a small wooden boat to the opposite bank, and walk along the plank road between the cliffs to a small pavilion to reach the end of the scenic area. Turning left from here is the battery car station. You can take a battery car back to the starting point (additional payment required). If you are not tired, you can also walk back along the battery car lane and you can still recall the scenery you saw when you came. The journey is not far.
